This information applies to retail orders shipped to residential or commercial addresses. Wholesale or corporate purchasers should contact us for specific shipping rates.
Van Otis ships to any street address in the continental United States via UPS or USPS. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii, and cannot ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses. Orders to Canada can be completed with special handling. Please call us for details. We do not fulfill orders for any overseas destinations.
For proper delivery please be sure to provide COMPLETE address details, including apartment numbers, business condo unit numbers, suite numbers, and office floors.
We take care in shipping your chocolates and confections to assure they arrive as you’d expect.
Chocolates are not tolerant of heat, and cannot be shipped without special thermal packing when temperatures anywhere en route are expected to be above 70F. Hence we will insist on thermal packaging and/or next day shipping to locations—and in seasons—when temperatures may exceed 70F. Shopping cart shipping charges will reflect the costs of thermally-protected packaging and expedited shipping.
ALL orders shipped anywhere between May 1 and September 30th generally require thermal protection, and will be shipped and charged accordingly. All orders shipped to the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas require year-round thermal protection packaging and overnight shipping. If we determine that shipping can confidently occur without a thermal package, we will refund the difference in cost to you, but the determination is strictly Van Otis’ to make. If you are willing to wait for cooler weather breaks for shipping, please indicate this in the special notes area of your order and we’ll do our best to ship at a time where thermal protection would not be required.
Orders are shipped Monday through Thursday. We do not ship on Fridays to avoid packages sitting in transit over weekends.
Orders are processed on Monday through Thursday. Most orders ship within two business days of receipt. Orders received on Thursdays will not ship until the following Monday (or Tuesday, in the case of a Monday holiday). We will specifically contact you on the first business day after receipt of your order if shipping time will be later than expected.
